How far ahead can I book?
You can reserve any day up to 180 days out. Availability is live, so what you see on the booking page is what is actually left on the sand for that day.
Do I need to book ahead at all?
No, you can turn up and see what is free at the rental stand. But on days when cruise ships are in port the beach fills between 9am and 2pm, and the shaded setups go first. Reserving means your gear is out and waiting when you arrive.
Can I change or cancel?
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before your beach day. Reply to your confirmation email or call us on 1-340-714-5326.
How many can I book at once?
Up to 10 of most items per reservation. Some have a lower cap, which is shown on the item itself. For anything larger, that is really an event, so tell us about it and we will set it up properly.
Does anything need booking in advance?
Transportation has to be booked at least 1 day ahead, so same day is not possible. Everything else can be reserved for the same day.
Do things sell out?
Cabana — Two Person Clamshell sells out regularly. There are only 5 of them, and on a busy day they go early. Chairs are rarely a problem.
On the day
What time can I arrive?
Any time we are open, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Rentals are for the full day rather than by the hour, so arriving later does not cost less, and there is no need to rush for a morning slot.
Where do I collect my things?
Find our team at the rental stand on the sand. Give them the name on the booking and they will point you to your setup, which will already be out.
What if it rains?
Caribbean rain usually passes in twenty minutes and the beach carries on. If the weather looks genuinely against you, change your booking free of charge up to 48 hours ahead and come another day.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes. There is also food and drink available at the beach, and the gift shop has cold drinks and the things people forget.
Getting here and what it costs
How much is it?
Rentals start at $20.00 a day. Every price is shown on the rentals page and on the booking page before you commit to anything.
What is the convenience fee?
A 18% charge added to the rental total, shown as its own line before you book so there is nothing to discover at the end.
Is there sales tax?
No. There is no sales tax on beach rentals in the US Virgin Islands, so the total you see is the total you pay.
How do I pay?
By card when you book. Prices are in USD.
How do I get to Magens Bay?
It is about twenty minutes from Charlotte Amalie and the cruise docks, over the ridge to the north side of the island. You can add a round trip ride to your booking, take a safari taxi, or drive. There is more detail on the getting here page.
Is there an entrance fee for the beach?
Magens Bay is a public park and the Magens Bay Authority charges admission at the gate. That is separate from anything you book with us.
